Job opportunity: Project officer |
The Position is based in Maroua.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the application of specific methodologies designed to ensure the appropriateness and quality of the partnership strategy;
- Support identification of potential new partners using CRS tools (RSFMP, HOCAI, etc.), including partner mappings and assessments;
- Support capacity strengthening and leadership development for partners;
- Support technical assistance activities with partners, including accompaniment and mentoring;
- Support partners to apply relevant tools to help identify capacity and institution strengthening needs, develop corresponding strategies, and monitor implementation;
- Participate in field activities such as strategic planning processes and evaluations to ensure an appropriate approach to capacity strengthening;
- Support efforts in getting CENC prime-ready by the end of the transition period by conducting assessments, organizational structuring and development, staffing and capacity building.
- Participate in initial partnership discussions, especially with new Church partners in order to build a strong foundation.
Qualifications and Skills:
• University degree in development, project management, business, organizational development, non-formal and / or adult education, psychology, public administration. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of work experience in international organizations or the private sector, particularly in project management, human resources management and public relations.
• Minimum of two years of experience in partnership activities and institutional strengthening, especially with a religious partner.
• Experience with capacity building, including training and mentoring as well as the development of training materials.
• Experience in institution building, including developing and / or improving business processes, policies, and procedures.
• Familiarity the relevant public donors’ regulations preferred.
• Proficient in Excel and experience with Word and PowerPoint. Knowledge of financial Systems and accounting package or other financial reporting software a plus.

- Proven ability to use Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in engaging partners and strengthening partnerships.
- Be perfectly bilingual (English and French)
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to detect and report inconsistencies
- Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail
- Ethical conduct in accordance with recognized professional and organizational codes of ethics
- Proactive, resourceful, solutions oriented and results-oriented
- Ability to work collaboratively
