For our country programme office in Cameroon, we are looking for a dynamic and committed Volunteer to support local actors in the implementation of WWF activities.

Reports to : Programme Executant

Location : Yokadouma, Cameroon

Duration: 06 Months

Mission of the Department:

The project to support the responsible management of communal and community forests in the TRIDOM landscape is part of the continuation of efforts to reverse the curve of loss of forest cover and biodiversity. The aim is to ensure that the exploitation of communal and community forests complies with the standards that contribute to respect for the environment and the well-being of local populations.

Major duties:

The volunteer will:
  • Ensure the planning and implementation and reporting of project activities
  • Ensure respect for the rights of local and indigenous peoples
  • Strengthen the technical and organizational capacities of the local communities and staff of the municipality
  • Contribute to the production of the semi-annual technical reports of the project
  • Perform other duties as required

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum Bac +5 in forestry, agriculture, environment, Natural resource management, Sustainable management
  • Minimum 2 years of field experience
Required Skills and Competencies
  • Mastery of GPS and cartographic tool such as ARCView, ARCGis, QGis, Map Info etc.
  • Mastery of the computer tool
  • Technical knowledge of online communication tools
  • Ability to communicate, lead field teams and work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Adheres to WWF's values, which are: Respect, Courage, Integrity and Collaboration
