The regionale delegation of the International Commitee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for Central Africa is seeking for its needs a candidats for the post below:
Health Field Officer (M/W) For Cameroonian nationals only
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct oversights and implementation of all Primary Health Care activities in the Area of Responsibility (AoR) in the line with the program plans
- Conducts regular field visits in the AoR to implement and monitor the heath-related activities to the targeted population
- Ensures proper management of information collected for program decision-making and appropriate reporting
- Participates in the analysis of and relflection on the overall health situation contributes to realistic project proposals in line with the delegation's objectives and priorities
- Conducts assessments and regular field visits to minitor activities and heath-related threats to the targeted population in the AoR
- Availability of and compliance with MoH guidelines and protocols in the AoR
- Participates in collection of data from all AoR as required for the Medical Acticity Database too
- Prepares requisition orders to be approved by his/her supervisor
- Monitor's use of medical / pharmaceutical stocks: monthly impress system, monitoring of consumption rates inventory
- Identifies and buils networks with interlocultors and local stakeholders to facilitate communication on and coordination of activities, thereby ensuring more eficient implementation of health programs
- Supports the Health Delegate and Sub-delegation leadership in nurturing a mutaully beneficial relationship with the interlocutors' key to the success of the PHC program objectives
- Interprets at meetings and translates documents into local languages (whenever needed)
- Participates in multidisciplinary assesments in ICRC priority zones and proposes new health facilities for ICRC intervention according to the needs
- Conducts regular monitoring visits to ICRC supported facilities using supervision check lists when security permits
- Conducts remote monitoring of activities in ICRC supported facilities when access limited due to security constrains
- Ensures medical supplies and essential drugs are delivered monthly to supported facilities based on imprest level
- Ensures availaibility of Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) diagnostic and treatment guidelines / protocols are available
- Ensure stagg are adhering to the MoPH diagnostic and treatment guidelines / protocols including C-19 guidelines
- Follows the potential emergencies (epidemics, clashes...) assesses and supports with ad hoc supply of medicines/ medical supplies to MoPH based on identified needs
- Maintains contracts with interlocutors and updates the list regularly
KNOWLEDGES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
- Degree in medicine or nursing, qualification in public health, sexual and reproductive Health (SRH)
- Health management would be an important asset
- Fluent written and spoken in english proficiency in frech and Pidgin
- 3 to 5 years of total work expérience (including 2 years of clinical expérience) with minimum 2 years experience in the humanitarian sector as well as medical emergency management
- Excellent knowledge of the assigned geographic area
- Experience in hospital or primary health care management including SRH
- Experience in medication drugs management and medical equipement
- Good ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, Ability to adapt to security contraints, high flexibility
- Good knowledge of IT tools (Word, Excel), Internet messaging (lotus note/outlook)
- Analytical and organizational skills, methodical and thorough with a sense of confidentiality
