The Cocoa Beans Purchasing Manager – Center Region leads and directs the day-to-day strategic purchasing and pre-financing activities for cocoa products and guides a team of 3 cocoa beans buyers inside the framework of established processes. She / He also handles a part of the P&L for her / his region.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage supplier portfolios and negotiate prices;
  • Manage a portfolio of contracts and negotiate service level agreements. Will also plan, coordinate and supervise activities relating to major contracts;
  • Manage a plan in line with the company purchasing strategy ensuring realization of synergies, like cost savings and risk reduction, and/or optimization of the profit, while reporting to the head of Sourcing;
  • Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team, explain the mission, vision and values, motivate people to achieve local business goals;
  • Ensure regular bush tours (prospecting, debt collection, information…);
  • Collect and analyze the key cost drivers, market dynamics and issues, areas of innovation, and alternative suppliers for high-risk area(s) with few alternatives/high costs of changing, in consultation with relevant functions to provide solid market information for decision making;
  • Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs;
  • Contribute to stakeholder engagement through identifying them, finding out their needs/issues/concern and reacting to these by arranging meetings and events and drafting supporting materials to promote understanding and commitment;
  • Participate and promote BC’s Values and Integrity around her / his working environment
About You:

Required academic qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement Management, Purchasing Management or similar;
  • Min 3-years diploma in Commercial or Marketing
  • Experience
  • Over 4 years of experience in Commercial / Procurement management
  • An experience in cocoa activity/business
Knowledge
  • Knowledgeable of business and the marketplace to advance the organization's goals;
  • Good knowledge of the field ;
  • Knowledgeable in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) ;
  • Bilingual.
  • Competencies regarding Futures / Forex / Stock Exchange Market can be a plus (Hedging process)
  • Interpersonal/Leadership competencies
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, good team management and negotiation skills;
  • High capacity in analyzing data trends;
  • Highly organized and must be able to handle multiple priorities.
