Duties

Basic Function of the Position: The Consular Clerk is part of a 17-person office, including 4 U.S. Direct-Hire (USDH) officers, 2 cleared American local-hires, and 11 Locally-Engaged Staff (LES). The incumbent reports directly to the Consular Chief but works closely with the senior LES and USDH officers. While the incumbent will not have supervisory responsibilities, their activities are intended to encompass the entire section, so collaboration and coordination will be essential. This is a full-time position and requires a secret-level clearance. Consular work will include aspects of American Citizen Services (ACS), Immigrant Visas (IV), and Non Immigrant Visas (NIV).

Qualifications and EvaluationsRequirements:

EXPERIENCE: One year para-professional experience is required.

(please note that one credited year of working experience is equal to 40 hours/week x 52 weeks or 2080 hours)
Education Requirements: A secondary school diploma is required.

LANGUAGE: Fluency in English Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. This may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES : The Incumbent must have basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and Access). This may be tested.
