SABGENA SARL is offering paid management internship in its agro-alimentary/processing
unit in Buea, the Southwest Region of Cameroon.

About.

Sabgena is a young company which is launching activities in agro-processing. Its vision is to
be the reference agro-processing business in producing and leading in the distribution and sales
of unique local plant-based healthy products. It was inspired by the desire to improve human
health through production of unique convenient and available agro-alimentary products.
Transformation of agricultural products for convenient use and to increase product shelf-life is
taking the lead for a better agricultural future.

Management Internship offers (2).

1) Administration and Finance

The Administration and Finance intern will be responsible for leading, managing, tracking and
reporting on financial transactions of the business. He/she will be answerable to the acting
Administration and finance Manager. The duties and responsibilities include the following:
  • Prepare and process all accounting transactions such as disbursement, cash receipts, journal entries and advances which are in accordance with finance and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely submission of monthly requests, reconciliations and
  • financial statement reports.
  • Maintain accurate bank records of cash withdrawals and deposits.
  • Ensure efficient payments and disbursements according to approved policy and procedures.
  • Provide administrative, logistical, and procurement support to the team.
  • Budget Management.
  • Assist activities managers with compiling, managing, monitoring, and tracking budget
  • Administration and activity management.
  • Ensure proper function of logistical operations including travel & events organization.
  • Develop and ensure adherence to administrative and financial procedures.
  • Ensure proper function of archive and documentation system.
Required qualifications;
  • Minimum of an HND. in accounting, administration, banking and finance or a related qualification. Prior work experience is a plus.
Aptitudes;
  • Microsoft office especially word and excel for functions relevant to financial management and accounting
  • Office management
  • Must be conversant with financial and accounting terminology
  • Excellent communication skills in English language. French is a plus.
  • Financial reporting
  • Familiar with Cameroon Tax regulations
  • Good interpersonal skills (Team player), social awareness and emotional intelligence.
  • Cooperate communication (written and verbal)
  • General knowledge on human resource management.
  • Can multitask and manage work pressure.
  • Must be dynamic and take initiative
2) Operations

The operations intern will handle a wide range of duties pertaining to the day-to-day functions
of the business under the supervision of the Operations manager. The duties and responsibilities
include the following:
  • Supervising the overall production operations of the business.
  • Ensuring the business runs according to set regulations while meeting required standards.
  • Long-term planning to create initiatives that further the company’s overall goals
  • Coordinating different teams to foster exchange of ideas and provide cross-team learning opportunities
  • Assessing and analyzing operations budget to find ways to minimize expenses and optimize profits
  • Inspiring and motivating employees to perform at their best through positive encouragement and incentive initiatives
  • Communicating with the board or other senior officials about shifting company priorities and projects
  • Identifying potential problems and points of friction and working to find solutions in order to maximize efficiency and revenue
  • Identifying opportunities to expand or shift course in order to take advantage of changes in the market
  • Coordinating employee for optimum performance towards attaining set goals.
  • Develop workable operational policies and operating procedures
Required qualification;
  • BSc. in agricultural sciences, food science and biotechnology or any related field. Prior work experience is a plus.
Aptitudes;
  • Microsoft office especially word, PowerPoint and excel for activity reporting.
  • Knowledge on sanitation and related production process.
  • Supervision, evaluation and monitoring of overall production and performance.
  • Efficient production results.
  • Excellent communication skills in English language. French is a plus.
  • Good interpersonal skills (Team player), social awareness and emotional intelligence.
  • Cooperate communication (written, listening and verbal)
  • Can multitask and manage work pressure.
  • Must be dynamic and take initiative
Other employees/unskilled labour (2-3).

These are workers that will carryout the operational activities for production while meeting the
set goals. They will run the equipment and report to the operations manager. They must respect
assigned duties and be able to take initiative. Perfect communication and interpersonal skills
are required with a good mastery of English language. French is a bonus. The minimum
qualification is an advanced level certificate or any equivalent with a mind to learn and ability
to meticulously follow instructions.

  • The internship programs will run for at least 6 months with possibility of extension as per the work contract.
  • The monthly internship pay ranges from 40,000FCFA to 70,000FCFA with possibility of performance based increase.

  • build experience in the area of intervention.
