We are presently in search of an experienced professional, Human Resources with outstanding people skills to manage personnel and ensure that human resources programs and initiatives are effective, efficient, and aligned to overall business objectives. 

About the role Reporting line : Head, Human

Job grade : To be determined based on background & experience 

Type of contract : Permanent contract 

Location : Douala , Cameroon 

Job purpose: He/She contributes to support present turnaround plan, through the promotion and implementation of excellent HR services that will respond to management strategy through; the selection and recruitment process, performance and talents management, training and development, employee relationship management, compensation and benefits management , career plan and staff mobility management, and to facilitate all other management services aimed sustaining performance and profitability of the Bank . 

Key responsibilities and duties include: 
  • Manage employee life cycle : Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance; 
  • Maintain employees’ file (physical and numerical), and staff data base, remuneration including payroll, evaluation, contracts, discipline etc. ; 
  • Provide guidance and counselling for individual development and career progression ; 
  • Liaise with department heads to assess training needs, develop an annual training plan in line with the skill gaps identified and manage the implementation of the plan; 
  • Manage all aspects of selection, recruitment, development, progression, and reward of staff bank wide ; 
  • Develop and continually update the staffing plan through discussion and interaction with department heads to ensure optimum number of staff at all times as well as a balanced staff diversity ratio ; 
  • Ensure that all staff salaries and benefits are processed/paid accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with compensation policy and legislation; be the primary backup for payroll processing, including updates to employee files, bonuses and performance incentives, tracking vacation/sick pay, importing expense reimbursements, inputting exceptions, hourly employee validation and benefit changes ; 
  • Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve employee experience 
  • Coordinate and maintain a good social climate by ensuring efficient communication and feedback to staff ; 
About You 

Required academic qualifications: 
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in HRM, Law, business administration , or any other social sciences management field. 
Work experience: 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience working in an HR department ideally in banking/financial services; 
Knowledge: 
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness ; 
  • Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR process and policies; 
  • Bilingual (English & French) is a MUST, or at least fluent in one of this language ; 
  • Computer literacy, advanced knowledge of MS Office suite , software packages and payroll tax rules, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed ; 
Interpersonal/Leadership competencies: 
  • High levels of initiative, leadership and direction ; 
  • Demonstrated people management and teamwork skills ; 
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence decisions with internal and external stakeholders ; 
  • Strong detail-oriented and resourceful mindset; 
  • Flexible and open to changing priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously within tight timelines.
