MPower Ventures, a global for-profit start-up in the energy access area (www.mpower.africa), is looking for an independent and entrepreneurial Business Development associate in Techiman. This is an exciting opportunity in a fascinating and rapidly growing field and in a start-up environment.
The main tasks of the associate are summarized below:
- Developing growth strategies and plans
- Managing and retaining relationships with existing clients
- Increasing client base
- Having an in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition
- Writing business proposals and negotiating with stakeholders
- Identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs
- Researching business opportunities and viable income streams
- Following industry trends locally and internationally
- Drafting and reviewing contracts
- Reporting on successes and areas needing improvements
The required skills and experience are summarized below:
- First professional experience in business development, sales or related fields either in Cameroon or in another African market
- A MSc or MA in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Finance or any relevant field is desired with a passion for clean energy
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in French and English
- Team player and eager to learn new tools and roll-up sleeves to get the job done
- Entrepreneurial and creative mindset,
- Understanding of the factors driving consumption of solar or similar products
- Additional languages are a plus.
The position is available immediately. The company is still early stage and can tailor the position to your interests. The salary depends the former work experiences and qualifications.
