- Provide Business Continuity Management (BCM) leadership and deliver a standardized, enterprise-wide BCM methodology across all company’s operations and sites.
- Assist in the creation of sub-divisional strategy in line with overarching divisional goals ;
- Ensure effective implementation of sub-divisional strategy by means of providing direction, structure, business plans and support ;
- Set up and manage project status meetings ;
- Review and identify key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions ;
- Manage budgets ;
- Sign-off / make decisions regarding operational changes ;
- Provide input to the performance review against agreed KPIs ;
- Create and monitor plan for continuous improvement ;
- Provide input into the review of reports on a monthly basis relating to progress made within the sub-division and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organization ;
- Review reports on specific projects as per the defined timelines as and when necessary ;
- Assist in managing the sub-divisional budgets in line with business objectives ;
- Assist in managing project initiative budgets in line with business objectives ;
- Provide technical guidance on the application of the enterprise-wide standardized methodology to enable the mitigation of business continuity threats and the recovery of mission critical functions at the time of an incident ;
- Develop, review and maintain business continuity policies, standards, procedures and guidelines and all BCP documentation including the Common Data document ;
- Perform business impact analyses / risk assessments and define recovery strategies for identified risks ;
- Carry out outage exercises at business unit level and integrated tests at company-wide level.
- Implement maintenance and continuous improvement schedules in line with accepted international best practices and standards ;
- Perform BCM gap analyses and current state assessments for each company’s operating site to determine the business continuity readiness of each location and deploy interventions to enhance existing capabilities and maintain an acceptable state of operational resiliency ;
- Maintain BCM performance measurement and capability dashboards and generate periodic reports on business continuity plan compliance status for executive management ;
- Monitor development and improvement the organization’s BCM maturity state as measured according to a best practice BCM Maturity Assessment Model ;
- Monitor the implementation of outstanding actions underlying the Business Continuity Plan for every division such as provision of recovery site, command Centre, procurement and populating of battle boxes ;
- Spearhead and coordinate the activities of the BCM Steering Committee ;
- Conduct sensitization and awareness to staff, company’s Suppliers and other external stakeholders on BCM framework, toolkits and metrics ;
- Manage the Company-wide Emergency Response and Crisis Management plans and ensure a coordinated resiliency framework ;
- Prepare BCM communications and briefings ;
- Integrate IT and Network Group disaster recovery plans and lead enhancement of internal fail-over capability for core critical systems and network elements in support of the overall business continuity plans ;
- Develop and implement BCM projects and manage efforts to deliver outcomes / deliverables on schedule.
- Minimum of 3 year degree in risk management, business management or Computer Science, Information Security ;
- Professional certification from the Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII) or the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) is extremely desirable ;
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in implementing Business Continuity Management (BCM) with a medium to large organization or management consulting firm principally in the telecommunications sector ;
- Experience in implementing business impact analyses / risk assessments, formulating recovery strategies, documenting business continuity plans, and conducting BCP exercises for a mobile telecommunications operator ;
