1. The Zhejiang University

University of Edinburgh Institute situated in Haining, China invites eligible candidates to apply for Biomedical Sciences Scholarships for undergraduate students.
Benefits of the Scholarship

  • Successful candidates are exempted from tuition fee
  • Living expenses up to the tune of CNY 17 000 per year

3. New Castle University Kidney Research PhD Scholarships for International Students in the UK

Applicants are invited to apply for the Kidney Research UK PhD Scholarships for both EU and international students at Newcastle University. Successful applicants are required to work on the research titled ‘Immuno-nephrology: Investigating the trigger events in atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome using comparative models’. This will take place under the supervision of Dr. Kelvin J. Marchbank and Professor David Kavanagh.

Applicants are given the opportunity to visit clinical, teaching and research activities in the United States and Canada.

Eligibility Criteria
  • For one to be eligible, he must meet the following criteria:

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:
  • Be a citizen of Australia or permanent resident;
  • Meet the entry requirements for a doctorate by research degree at the University of Melbourne or currently enrolled in a research degree at the University of Melbourne with at least 12 months of candidature;
  • Undertake graduate research in medicine, law, economics, commerce, architecture, or criminology;
  • Have an intention to study as a full-time student;
  • Must not be previously a recipient of a similar graduate research scholarship.

Edith Seville Coale Scholarships

Edith Seville Coale Scholarships are made available to women entering their second or third year in medical school. Enrolment in some selected number of universities must be the basic requirement for eligibility

Benefit of the Scholarship

A total amount ranging between $5000 to $8000 is awarded to each recipient.

Eligibility Criteria

The following are the criteria for the award of the scholarship:
It is only available to female medical students entering their second or third year.
Applicants must perform well above average in their studies.
Applicants must prove that they are financially handicapped to finance their education.
Applicants must be enrolled in one of the following universities: John Hopkins University School of Medicine, the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Howard University College of Medicine.

6. Imperial College, London

There are varied numbers of scholarships offered by the School of Medicine at the Imperial College. The students are offered scholarships based on their automatic admission to study medicine at the college. Eligible candidates are contacted by the management after the publishing of the results.

Some of the scholarships available at the college include:
  • Full Tuition Fees Scholarship for Home Students: Home students who are offered an unconditional admission to study medicine are eligible for this scholarship. The scholarship award covers the tuition fees worth £9 250 and would last for six years of the programme.
  • MBBS / BSc Course (School Leavers) Scholarships. These scholarships are awarded to students who accepted an unconditional offer to study medicine at the college. It is awarded based on their outstanding performance during the admission process and in an invited scholarship essay. They include Fleming/McCowen Scholarship (£3 375 pa for two years), McCowen Scholarships (£300 pa for two years), Lord Morgan Scholarship (£150 pa for two years), Palmer Scholarship (£150 pa for two years), William Greville Griffiths Award (£500 pa or two years) and President Scholarships (£1000 per year for four years).
  • MBBS / BSc Course (Widening participation students). This is awarded to students with limited financial capabilities, for their outstanding performance during the admission process and in an invited Scholarship Essay.
  • MBBS Course (Graduate students). This is awarded for their outstanding performance during the admission process and in an invited Scholarship Essay.

7. John Hamel MacGregor Awards in Medical Science

The scholarship is available to students who are enrolling in a part-time or full-time programme in BmedSci (Hons) or postgraduate research course in the Faculty of Medical and Health Studies before the completion of their MBChB. The award is made available by the University of Auckland Council based on the recommendation of the Trustees.

Benefits of the Scholarship
  • The scholarship is valued at an amount of up to $10 000 per annum. There are up to five awards in this effect and each of them is only tenable for a period of one academic year.
  • Eligibility Criteria
  • The awards are only available to students who are undertaking a medical degree at the University of Auckland.
  • Candidates must have paid the fees or arranged to pay the fees for the intended programme.
  • Students who hold New Zealand citizenship would be assisted with at least 50% distributable income.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must:
  • Have achieved grades of Overseas equivalence of A*AA at the A-Level.

Eligible applicants are invited to apply for the MedEvac Foundation International Children’s Foundation Scholarship. The aim of the scholarship is to sponsor students enrolled or accepted into an accredited college, university or vocational-technical school. It is majorly for higher education students who lost their parents or guardians in an air medical or critical care ground transport accident.

  • The award of the scholarship is totaled $10 000 for two candidates. One candidate is to receive the sum of $5000.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must:
  • Be enrolled into an accredited college, university or vocational-technical school.
  • Be a previous dependant of an air or ground medical transport crew member or a patient whose life was cut short or injured in an air medical accident.
  • Academically sound and financially needy.
