Job Description

  • Mentor and develop team-members using a supportive and collaborative approach, including assigning accountabilities, setting objectives, establishing priorities, and monitoring and evaluating performance with feedback.
  • Review power audit reports for completeness and accuracy. Query information provided and request supporting evidence.
  • Manage power audit analyses and provide recommendations on power requirements for site upgrades and/ or stabilization.
  • Review power-related activities in roll-out of new facilities to ensure strict adherence to policies and standards.R
  • esearch viable electrical designs, operations and maintenance of power systems that can guarantee the delivery of business goals with less Opex and Capex.
  • Drive all proofs of concept (POCs) for new approved innovations/ solutions that are cost effective and reduce Opex.
  • Design, evaluate and dimension power systems proposed for deployment at facilities to ensure compliance to desired specifications and business needs.
  • Develop electrical equipment operations and maintenance practices which comply with the company, international and regulatory standards.
  • Launch check audits on power solutions deployed across sites to ensure that such solutions are being optimally utilized.
  • Provide high-level technical support to regional teams and contractors on all power-related activities/ escalations.
  • Drive Opex reduction/ optimization by providing best-in-class power dimensioning analyses and recommendations.
  • Advise and support procurement and installation teams on power systems, including but not limited to AC and DG generators, ATS, Rectifiers, Alternative energy systems, air conditioners etc.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders for support on all power systems-related matters necessary to achieve the company’s operational goals.
  • Support other Project Managers on all power-related issues to achieve smooth close-out of projects.Review monthly site upgrade priority list and follow up with contractors to complete as per plan.
  • Carry out power audits for root cause analyses on sites experiencing repeated faults. Propose strategies necessary for correction of the faults.
  • Conduct random checks on installed power systems across sites to ensure that the company’s standards are being adhered to.
  • Develop detailed and complete documentation for every dimension solution or project.
  • Proactively communicate project status, issues, and risks to relevant stakeholders as and when due.Promote communication between colleagues for the benefit of information flow and to curb any problems that may arise.
  • Prepare and submit reports to Director, Technical on all matters pertaining to the unit.
  • Manage relationships with partners/vendors.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by Director, Technical.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication, Science, Engineering, or related field.Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline and/ or MBA will be an asset.
  • +10 years’ experience in Telecoms Power infrastructure engineering and project management.
