Canadian International Development Scholarships 2030

The Canadian International Development Scholarships 2030 (BCDI 2030) program is a remarkable initiative aimed at providing quality education and training opportunities in Canada. Funded by Global Affairs Canada, this eight-year program (2022-2030) is designed to foster social and economic development in 26 eligible countries, aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

About the BCDI 2030 Program

BCDI 2030 is committed to reducing inequalities by enhancing access to higher education, vocational, and technical training. The program focuses on equipping scholars with skills, knowledge, and real-world experience that will empower them to become change-makers in their communities. Approximately 600 scholars will be selected through this initiative, with a minimum of 51% of them being women, ensuring gender inclusivity and equal opportunity.

Upon completion of their studies and training in Canada, BCDI 2030 Scholars will return to their home countries, contributing to their nation’s economic and social growth. This program not only strengthens human capital but also establishes long-term collaboration between Canadian higher education institutions (HEIs) and institutions in partner countries.

Eligibility Criteria BCDI 2030 Program

Unlike traditional scholarship programs, BCDI 2030 does not accept individual applications. Instead, eligibility is determined through project partnerships established between Canadian HEIs and HEIs from eligible countries. These partnerships develop projects that receive funding under the BCDI 2030 framework.

• Canadian HEIs will launch calls for applications in collaboration with their partner institutions.
• Scholarships will be awarded based on selection criteria set by the participating HEIs.
• Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the Canadian study programs they are applying for.
