What you will do
- Develop the Education strategy, technical SoPs / guidelines and Macro Log-frames (MLF) inclusive of partnerships, that are aligned with regional and global strategies and priorities, in coordination with the other Core Competency (CC) Specialists/PDMs.
- Compliance with and adherence to NRC policies, Global Education Strategy, as leading technical document to comply with/ align to, Education tools, handbooks and guidelines.
- Responsible for programme development and roll-out of relevant tools, SOPs and guidelines, as well Define, develop and grow NRC Cameroon’s Education programme ensuring that it remains relevant, needs based, and data driven.
- Lead needs Education assessments and response analyses, together with other CCs to ensure synergies and multi-sector responses and advise the Country Programme in appropriate and relevant actions required to new emergencies.
- Lead external coordination engagement with cluster mechanisms and other humanitarian actors.as managing funding proposals, project budgets and donor reports.
What you will bring
- Degree in International Relations, or Social Sciences (Master’s degree would be advantageous).
- Minimum 3 years of experience from a senior level project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context.
- Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Managerial experience with a focus on strategy and programme development desirable
- Technical Education expertise, in particular non-formal education, youth programming and phycological support
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix hierarchical structure with various internal interlocutors and communication lines.
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
- Knowledge and skills in market analysis, cash-based interventions and market-based programmes
- Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of the context in Cameroon and especially Northwest and Southwest is desirable
- Experience with Program/program start-up, exit or similar strategies.
- Good understanding of key technical standards (INEE, SPHERE, HAP, IASC, gender mainstreaming, IHL, humanitarian principles etc.) with the ability to integrate into response programming.
- Experience in team and partners capacity development
- A clear interest and understanding of humanitarian issues from emergency to protracted crisis
- A clear interest and understanding of Protection Mainstreaming (Safe and Inclusive Programming)
- Advanced computer skills, especially in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
