About the Programme

The 2026 Kenya Artificial Intelligence Accelerator Programme is a national initiative designed to identify and support safe, responsible, and high-impact AI use cases across Kenya. The programme is a collaborative effort between three key organizations:

• Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy (MICDE)
• Technopolis Development Authority (TDA)
• United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Kenya

The initiative aims to strengthen public-service delivery and advance Kenya's green transition through the strategic application of artificial intelligence technologies.

All applicants must meet the following criteria:

Compliance	Comply with Kenyan legal, regulatory, licensing, data-protection and IP requirements

GreenTech Startup & Innovator Eligibility

Applicants selecting the Kenyan Startup or Innovator category must meet these additional requirements:

Registration	Legally registered and operating in Kenya, with clearly identified founders and ownership
Solution Type	Technology-enabled solution addressing an eligible GreenTech challenge
AI Component	AI already contributes — or could materially contribute — to the proposed solution
Team Commitment	Committed core team with capacity to participate throughout the programme
Market Understanding	Understanding of intended customers, users or beneficiaries
Development Stage	Prototype or minimum viable solution
Data Access	Access to, or a credible plan to obtain, required data for development and testing
Compliance	Relevant approvals/licenses in place, or a credible compliance plan
Governance	Basic corporate governance and accountability arrangements
