About the Yenching Academy Scholarship
Through the Yenching scholarship, almost 120 students get enrollment in the Yenching Academy each year. Students are selected from the Chinese Mainland and abroad, and the Peking University scholarship makes it possible for students from every corner of the world to study in China for free.
Among the international cohort, roughly 30-35% come from Europe, 25-30% from the US and Canada, and 30-35% from the rest of the world. The Yenching fellowship therefore offers a real chance to broaden your perspective by working alongside students of many nationalities.
The Yenching Academy of Peking University fellowship gives scholars an opportunity to gain detailed insight into Chinese studies and culture. Scholars can select their research area according to their own interests, from six available fields. Every fellow is assigned a thesis advisor, which helps them reach excellence in China-related studies.
