The Higher Institute of Applied Medical Sciences (HIAMS), Buea is a renowned professional university of learning accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education since May 2008.

The Higher National Diploma and Degree Programs focuses on learning not only by theory, but by clinical practice every semester to ensure that the professional is able to adequately relate scientific theorical knowledge and clinical skills. HIAMS is mentored by the University of Buea and the Nursing University of East Anglia, England, and supervised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Ministry of Vocational Training.

General Admission requirements:

• Pass in Ordinary level for short programs
• Pass in Advanced Level (excluding Religion) for HND programmes
• Pass in HND for Degree conversion programmes
• Biological Science graduates and other health Allied Health programs join year 2 for Ultrasound.
