University Of Ottawa Africa Scholarships 2024 For African Students Studying English
The University of Ottawa has announced $11 million in entrance and merit scholarships for African students. The Entrance and Merit Scholarship will provide new students with a four-year scholarship to cover a portion of the cost of their university tuition.

The University of Ottawa is proud of the diversity of its international student population. These Entrance and Excellence Scholarships: Renewable scholarships based on an average are for students from Africa, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, South Korea, India, or Bangladesh who are studying in English, who are admitted in the fall of 2024 (start date in September).
The University of Ottawa is proud of its internationally diverse student population. As a result, starting with the Fall 2024 term, International students from these countries will receive significant reductions in their tuition fees when they study in one of the eligible undergraduate programs offered in English.
All students who are eligible for this scholarship will automatically receive it upon registration. It will be applied directly to their tuition fees.
The entrance scholarship cannot be combined with the Excellence Scholarship for African Students Studying in English.
Our scholarship program is one of the most generous in Canada. It rewards not only your pre-university academic achievements, but also your achievements in each term of full-time study at the university. The new scholarship will give African students studying in English access to numerous pilot programs in three faculties for a significantly reduced tuition cost.
In an effort to assist students throughout the application process, the University of Ottawa will be hosting a number of virtual sessions to answer questions and guide prospective students through the application process.

Who Can Apply For The University Of Ottawa Entrance And Merit Scholarship?
Students from Africa, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia or Vietnam will be automatically eligible for a renewable, average-based entrance or excellence scholarship when enrolling in an eligible undergraduate program offered in English. Students of China or South Korea will be considered for merit scholarships in these same programs.

The amount of the scholarships varies depending on the admission average and the faculty offering the program.
Merit Scholarships are awarded through a competitive process from among the top applicants with an admission average of 90% or higher who apply for admission before April 1, 2024 and whose admission was processed by April 15, 2024. Candidates whose first choice is the University of Ottawa will be favoured. Recipients are expected to begin their program in September. To the extent possible and in order to maximize diversity, each faculty will award the same number of scholarships.

How To Apply For The University Of Ottawa Entrance And Merit Scholarship:
- Merit Scholarships are awarded through a competitive process from among the top applicants with an admission average of 90% or higher who apply for admission before April 1, 2024 and whose admission was processed by April 15, 2024.
- Preference will be given to candidates whose first choice is the University of Ottawa.
- Recipients are expected to begin their program in September.
How to Apply:
- The student must first apply here: https://www.ouac.on.ca/ouac-105/
- Then, the university would receive the application and generate a student number that the prospective student would use to log in to the school's portal, UOZone, and then submit their results and documents for review.
- After a successful exam, they will be offered conditional admission which will include the scholarship based on their GPA.
