The Director General of the National School of Local Administration (NASLA) is launching a Call for Applications for the recruitment of interns for the first session of basic training for officers in charge of Municipal Police, for the year 2025.
Municipalities, Urban Communities, and District Municipalities meeting the following conditions may submit applications:
GENERAL CONDITIONS
- Have a municipal council resolution on the creation of a service in charge of municipal police approved by the Minister in charge of decentralized territorial communities;
- Have a list of candidates for recruitment in the municipal police, meeting the conditions listed in Article 17 of Decree No. 2022/354 of August 09, 2022, setting out the modalities for the exercise of municipal police;
- Officers in charge of municipal police must be at least twenty-one (21) years old and at most thirty-five (35) years old at the time of recruitment, in accordance with the provisions of Article 17 (2) of (b) above.
The list of applications must be sent to the Director General of NASLA by registered mail from the competent Mayor, accompanied by the candidates' files.
Each file includes the following documents:
- A copy of the resolution on the creation of the service in charge of municipal police approved by the Minister in charge of decentralized territorial communities;
- A copy of the candidate's employment or pre-employment contract;
- Two (02) 4x4 photos;
- A certified true copy of the birth certificate, handwritten or typed, signed by a competent administrative or municipal authority;
- A certified true copy of the required diploma corresponding to the level of employment of municipal police officer applied for within the City Hall and mentioned in the candidate's employment or pre-employment contract;
- A certificate of presentation of the original of said diploma, signed by the Governor, the Prefect or the Sub-prefect;
- A certificate of nationality;
- A criminal record bulletin No. 3, issued by the competent judicial authorities dated less than three (03) months from the date of submission of the file;
- A copy of the result of the preliminary moral investigation carried out on the candidate by the territorially competent services of the National Security at the request of the mayor or material proof of the filing of said request;
- A medical certificate dated less than three (03) months from the date of submission of the file, issued by a doctor practicing in a public health facility.
- A registration form co-signed by a judicial police officer; a payment receipt for the sum of forty thousand (40,000) CFA francs, representing the file study and aptitude test fees, payable into the NASLA (BUEA) account no. 06842 08685442000 25 opened at the International Bank of Cameroon for Savings and Credit, abbreviated "BICEC".
The non-refundable file study fees and psychotechnical aptitude tests amount to forty thousand (40,000) thousand CFA francs:
- The training fees, payable in two (02) installments, upon confirmation of final selection, are set at three hundred thousand (300,000) CFA francs per candidate:
- the first installment: two hundred thousand CFA francs (200,000 F.CFA) to be paid no later than March 21, 2025;
- the second installment: one hundred thousand CFA francs (100,000 F.CFA) to be paid no later than May 30, 2025.
Deadline for receipt of applications from municipalities: February 21, 2025.
Provisional date for publication of provisional lists of candidates: February 28, 2025. Provisional date for psychotechnical aptitude tests: March 6, 2025 in Buea. Provisional date for publication of final lists of candidates: March 12, 2025. Provisional date for the start of training: March 26, 2025.
The training lasts a maximum of three (3) months in BUEA.
TRAINING CONTENT
The training focuses on the following areas:
- public liberties management;
- urban order management techniques;
- public assistance;
- civil protection:
- any other area within the competence of municipal police officers.
