Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is offering a fully funded PhD Scholarship in Quantum Transport in Mixed Ionic-Electronic Conductors (OMIECs). This experimental project explores how OMIECs—organic materials capable of conducting both ions and electrons—can be applied in biosensing, neuromorphic devices, and sustainable electronics.

The scholarship gives candidates the opportunity to work in a world-class research environment with supervision from experts at QUT and CSIRO.

How Many Awards?

What is the Benefit of the Award?

  • Stipend: $40,000 per year (tax-free) for up to 3.5 years, with a possible 6-month extension.
  • Tuition fee sponsorship for up to 4 years.
  • Expert supervision by A/Prof. Soniya Yambem, Dr. Mahboobeh Shahbazi, and Dr. Wendy Purches (CSIRO).
  • Research environment: Faculty of Science, School of Chemistry & Physics, Centre for Materials Science, and the Bioelectronics & Biosensors group.

How Long Will the Award Last?


Up to 3.5 years (full-time PhD) with a possible 6-month extension, plus tuition fee coverage for up to 4 years.
