Financial Perspective:
- Drive increase in Shareholder return by ensuring that IT Processes are aligned to achieve all elements on the business score card. (E.g., Grow Service Revenue, Improve Customer Experience, Increase PAT, Ensure Operating Cashflow and Grow Subscriber base).
- Define and lead the strategic direction for IT investments, ensuring alignment with MTN Cameroon’s corporate objectives to maximize market share, diversify revenue streams from ICT, digital services, and data, and optimize EBITDA margins.
- Drive shareholder value by aligning IT capabilities with transformative business imperatives, including CAPEX efficiency, sustainable cost management, and maximizing return on digital and technology investments.
- Lead high-level negotiations with technology and ecosystem partners to secure value-driven contracts, fostering financial growth while advancing MTN Cameroon’s technology-driven initiatives.
- Propose, approve, and oversee IT budgets, ensuring that resource allocation prioritizes digital transformation, innovation, and operational efficiency while maintaining strict financial discipline.
- Champion enterprise-wide process optimization initiatives, leveraging automation, AI-driven insights, and digital tools to achieve measurable financial efficiency, including a targeted 5% year-on-year reduction in divisional budgets.
Internal Perspective
- Architect and oversee the execution of an enterprise IT vision that integrates emerging technologies, including AI, IoT, hybrid cloud, automation, and edge computing, to position MTN Cameroon as a technology leader.
- Design and implement a robust IT strategy that aligns with MTN’s drive toward digital transformation, ensuring agility, scalability, and responsiveness to rapidly evolving market needs.
- Develop governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to guide IT operations, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, compliance, and delivery of high-quality services.
- Spearhead the adoption of innovative digital platforms, enabling cloud-native and microservices architectures to enhance operational agility and support a diverse range of digital services.
- Build a comprehensive IT risk management strategy, embedding cybersecurity, compliance, and business continuity into all processes to protect MTN Cameroon’s operations and reputation.
- Evaluate and ensure the deployment of modernized IT infrastructure, applications, and tools to support digital growth and operational resilience.
- Oversee the technical architecture of IT systems, ensuring relevance, flexibility, and the infusion of innovations to support MTN Cameroon’s transition to a TechCo.
- Establish a data governance framework that leverages data as a strategic asset, enabling data-driven decision-making and the creation of new revenue streams through analytics and AI.
- Monitor IT projects and operations to ensure resource availability, strategic alignment, and maximized return on investment from technology initiatives.
- Develop and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Terms of Reference with technology providers and partners, ensuring alignment with the organization’s digital transformation goals.
- Implement advanced IT quality assurance and asset management systems, ensuring operational excellence and optimization of resources in a digital-first environment.
- Continuously review and refine metrics and KPIs to assess IT operations, aligning performance with corporate strategy and enabling informed decision-making.
Risk Management:
- Lead the development of a comprehensive IT risk management strategy that mitigates vulnerabilities, safeguards digital assets, and ensures uninterrupted business operations.
- Oversee disaster recovery planning and execution at a strategic level, ensuring resilience and continuity of IT services during disruptions.
- Implement enterprise-wide cybersecurity measures, addressing evolving threats while maintaining compliance with national and global data protection regulations.
- Monitor and respond proactively to risks associated with technology obsolescence, regulatory changes, and geopolitical factors, ensuring alignment with MTN Cameroon’s strategic vision.

- Develop and execute a customer-focused IT strategy that enhances digital and traditional services, driving seamless and engaging customer experiences.

Job Description
Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
The Manager Sales will provide sales and commercial support for fixed infrastructure wholesale for South Sudan FibreCo. They will cater to internal customers (MTN Group OpCos) and external customers (3rd parties, e.g. global carriers, ISPs, MNOs and digital players). The role will develop and define initiatives to assist in strategic positioning of connectivity services to maximise revenues from South Sudan FibreCo. The Head of Sales will drive sales in a Wholesale Fibre and Services.
Responsibilities
Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)
The Manager Sales will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:
- Support in driving the South Sudan Fibreco wholesale business to capture incremental revenue both internally (from OpCo) and externally (from 3rd party customers)
- Work with the Managing Director to manage the South Sudan FibreCo resources needed for the Business to operate effectively and meet performance targets
- Manages the implementation of annual business plan to ensure that business objectives of delivering stakeholder value are achieved. Draws insights from business intelligence tools to position products and services for maximum competitive advantage
- Develop an Executive Relationship Management programme for customers, assisting with thought leadership and consultative -based selling at board level in customer accounts
- Define the wholesale strategic guidelines to sell fixed infrastructure for global 3rd party customers, such as digital players and global carriers, and manage the customer relationship throughout the lifecycle
- Ensure on-time implementation and delivery of sold services by doing regular follow-ups with implementation teams and/or managed services
- Ensure full customer satisfaction over the wholesale sales/delivery process
- Tailor and customise commercial solutions dependent on regulatory approval across multiple jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with Technical teams to manage suppliers, products, solutions and commercial management of assets
- Provide input to monitoring capacity pricing changes in the markets, market price trends analysis based on customer feedback, and market dynamics, so that to improve own practices as well as request pricing updates from the pricing teams
- Work on business cases for both internal and external sales forecasts to assist in forecasting demand for South Sudan FibreCo services
- Ensure that international assets are optimised for the best possible group financial return
- Grow product demand via innovative combination of GTM strategies, pricing, financing and services
- Define the wholesale sales strategy and GTM best practices, understand and identify customer needs and trends
- Implement, monitor and ensure ambitious financial targets are met for wholesale revenue market share
- Manage performance of the sales team and provide it as input to consolidated reports
- Possess the authority, presence and integrity to command respect from colleagues and from external contacts
- Plan and organise work around customer demand
- Foster cross-functional collaboration between multiple Bayobab business units to deliver wholesale services
- Assess current competitive and operator landscape for the wholesale fixed connectivity business
- Ensure that all transactions with customers are duly recorded and tracked and ensure the customers are billed and revenues are collected on time
Role Deliverables
- Create sales and market reports on the wholesale performance of South Sudan FibreCo for 3rd party Sales and for MTN OpCos
- Create detailed analysis on the customer and competitive landscape
