Role Context

The Major Account Executive will consult with business owners and introduce them to the #1Logistics Company in the world. To provide and efficient, friendly and courteous service to customers to maintain service excellence and DHL’s reputation as a market leader.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure to visit all clients in respective base within the 90 day call cycle.
  • Contribute to projects and assignments that have some impact on the department.
  • Manage a portfolio of customers and potential customers via personal sales visits, using face-to-face contact to provide a ‘personal service.
  • Develop an Annual customer call cycle
  • Conversion of qualified leads into customers (First Time Buyers) and develop and penetrate existing accounts (Retention and Development).
  • Act as the customers’ main point of contact.
  • Manage a portfolio of customers and potential customers via personal sales visits, using face to face contact to provide a ‘personal service’.
  • Act as the customers’ main point of contact, by liasing closely with the relevant departments within DHL to ensure that their queries, problems or issues are dealt with appropriately.
  • Make decisions during negotiation with customers related to volume and discount levels as well as additional services offered. Propose discount agreements to the Sales Manager for approval. Work under general supervision with regular review following established procedures.
 May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level personnel in Associate roles.
Minimum Requirements
Education, experience and Competencies
  • Bachelor Degree /Tertiary
  • Education or related work experience in related discipline and 0-3 years of experience in related field.
  • Entry level professional contributor.
  • Understands fundamental concepts and theories.
  • Matric(Grade12) or equivalent qualification
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Excellent Business Communication
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage time and to be punctual
  • Ability to work well and under pressure
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Analytical ability
  • Knowledge of the courier industry
