Position Summary
The Utility Head will be responsible for overseeing the project operation, maintenance, and optimization of all utility systems essential to tyre manufacturing operations. This includes Steam generation and distribution, briquette-fired boilers, Compressed air systems, Water treatment, HVAC, ETP/STP, Vacuum systems and other auxiliary services. The role ensures uninterrupted utility supply to support production, adheres to energy efficiency goals, and ensures compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Utility Operations Management:
- Lead day-to-day operations of all utility systems including electrical, compressed air, steam, cooling towers, HVAC, RO plants, and ETP/STP,
- Ensure availability and reliability of utility services to meet plant production demands,
- Maintenance & Reliability,
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules,
- Minimize downtime through root cause analysis and timely rectification of issues,
- Ensure optimal functioning of equipment through condition monitoring and reliability engineering practices.
- Drive energy-saving initiatives across all utility systems,
- Monitor KPIs like specific steam consumption, specific power consumption, specific water consumption and cost per unit,
- Implement projects to reduce energy consumption and improve process efficiency.
- Ensure all utility operations comply with statutory regulations including electrical safety, Boiler norms, Pollution control, fire safety and NFPA,
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness drills.
- Lead a team of utility engineers, technicians, and operators,
- Conduct regular training programs to enhance team capability in latest technologies and best practices.
- Plan and execute utility-related CAPEX projects,
- Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and contractors for timely project execution.
- Maintain records of utility consumption, maintenance logs, compliance certificates, and energy audits,
- Prepare reports for management review and contribute to sustainability and ESG reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering,
- 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in utility management, preferably in tyre industry,
- Strong knowledge of utility systems and energy management,
- Project execution & installation,
- Utility systems operation and maintenance,
- Energy efficiency and cost optimization,
- Team leadership and cross-functional coordination,
- Basic knowledge of SCADA/BMS systems,
- Regulatory and environmental compliance,
- Problem-solving and decision-making.

ELECTRICAL PROJECT MANAGER

Position Summary
As an Electrical Project Manager, your roles and responsibilities are specialized within the field of electrical engineering and construction. In essence, as an Electrical Project Manager, your primary responsibility is to oversee the successful planning, execution, and completion of electrical projects, ensuring they meet technical requirements, quality standards while adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
1.Project Planning and Initiation:
- Define the scope, objectives, and deliverables of electrical projects;
- Conduct feasibility studies and assess project requirements;
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets in coordination with stakeholders.
- Allocate resources such as manpower, equipment, and materials effectively;
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of resources;
- Manage subcontractors and vendors involved in electrical installations and services.
- Build and lead a team of electrical engineers, technicians, and support staff;
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and expertise;
- Provide guidance, motivation, and support to ensure team cohesion and performance;
- Provide training to team for Electrical systems & best international maintenance practises.
- Oversee the electrical design process, including power distribution, lighting, wiring, and control systems;
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations;
- Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and calculations,
- Should possess knowledge about (HT) High tension & LT (Low tension) electricity substations. Along with substation exposure of 11KA & high-speed engines;
- Expected to have detailed information regarding fault finding, troubleshooting, RCA (root cause analysis) for PLC, AC & DC drives with Scada & ladder logic.
- Monitor project progress against milestones, schedules, and budgets.
- Implement project controls to track costs, expenditures, and resource utilization;
- Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs effectively.
- Establish and enforce quality assurance processes for electrical installations and services;
- Conduct inspections and testing to verify compliance with design specifications and safety standards;
- Implement and oversee safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders;
- Provide updates on project status, issues, and resolutions;
- Address stakeholder concerns and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, reports, contracts, and correspondence;
- Prepare and present progress reports, financial reports, and other project documentation as required;
- Implementation of energy efficient systems, procedures & auding same for cost effectiveness.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies;
- Monitor and manage risks throughout the project to minimize impact on project objectives;
- Implement contingency plans to address unforeseen circumstances.
- Coordinate commissioning activities to ensure proper functioning of electrical systems;
- Facilitate project handover, including documentation, training, and support;
- Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions to improve future project execution;
- Should have exposure of dealing with government delegates for obtaining permissions & licences.
- A Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE), electronics engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in process industry.
- Strong Mathematical and Physics Foundation, Circuit Design and Analysis, Power Systems Knowledge and Control Systems Engineering.
- Proficiency in Engineering Software and Tools.
- High attention to detail and team management.
