Job offer : Summer Tech Camp Volunteer

Role Description

BIXO Academy Summer Tech Camp is an immersive program designed for kids aged 10 to 17, aimed at exploring the endless possibilities of the digital age. Led by industry experts and in partnership with the best education providers in Cameroon, our camp promises an unforgettable experience filled with learning, creativity, and fun.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

1. Assist Camp Instructors: Support camp instructors in delivering lessons and activities related to various aspects of technology including coding, robotics, digital design, and more.
2. Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of camp participants throughout the duration of the camp.
3. Mentoring: Provide guidance and support to campers as they navigate through different projects and activities, fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment.
4. Setup and Cleanup: Assist with setting up and cleaning up camp materials, equipment, and facilities before and after sessions.
5. Administrative Tasks: Help with administrative tasks such as registration, attendance tracking, and distributing materials as needed.
6. Promotion: Assist in promoting the camp within the local community to encourage participation and engagement.

Requirements:

1. Passion for Technology and Education: A genuine interest in technology and a desire to share knowledge and inspire young minds.
2. Good Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with campers, fellow volunteers, and camp staff.
3. Patience and Empathy: Willingness to work with children of varying skill levels and backgrounds, demonstrating patience and empathy.
4. Reliability: Commitment to fulfilling volunteer responsibilities for the duration of the camp.
5. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure the success of the camp.

Qualifications:

• Experience or interest in technology and digital marketing
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work well in a team
• Patience and enthusiasm for teaching and working with children
• Fluency in English and French is preferred
