Who We Are
Grassland Cameroon is a food storage, drying, and distribution company that
sources products from smallholder farmers, whom we support during the season
with input loans and training, so that they can be more productive. We
transform the farmers' produce into standardized, graded products that we sell
across West and Central Africa, to buyers who can be sure of the quality they
receive.
About the Role
We are looking for a young dynamic graduate who is keen on gaining valuable
real-world experience in sustainable agriculture and contributing to improving
the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in rural areas of Cameroon. The role
will involve assisting the operations team in tracking input distribution
data, communicating with farmers, and monitoring farm evolution. The ideal
candidate will be passionate about making a difference in agriculture and
eager to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring all farmers receive information about the availability of inputs and input prices on time.
- Collaborating with logistics and procurement teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of farm inputs to the farmers.
- Ensure input distribution sheets are properly updated and all entries are confirmed with the farmers.
- Engaging with maize farmers to understand their needs, challenges, and feedback regarding the farm inputs and extension services provided.
- Assisting in the writing of farm evolution reports
- Assisting in organising training sessions, farmer meetings, and farmer recruitment campaigns
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Problem solver with excellent attention to detail, commitment to excellence, and outstanding work ethic
- Keen interest in rural/community development

- Flexible and adaptable to rural environments and thrives in a bootstrapped/start-up culture
- Strong technology skills (knowledge of Word, Excel, and Google Docs)
- Fluency in English (French is a plus)
- Bachelor's degree in agricultural field preferred
