Context


Programme Assistant-Cash Based Transfers (CBT) is to perform specialized and/or standardized processes and activities under programme implementation using the CBT modality. The incumbent will operate under the direct supervision of the Head of Field Office .

Accountabilities/Responsibilities
  • Perform specialized and/or standardised processes and activities relating to the CBT intervention modality, supporting alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines.
  • Implement capacity-building initiatives that address the needs of WFP staff, cooperating partners, and national governments.
  • Support monitoring and evaluation processes, establish various reports, analyze data and highlight trends/issues, catalyze learning and promote active dissemination of lessons learned in programming;
  • Ensure the coordination of cash-based transfer activities with stakeholders in the sector, including the government, WFP's cooperating partners, and other UN agencies, to promote the adoption of CBT as the preferred assistance modality for humanitarian and development interventions.
  • Provide specialized project management support to CBT programs to ensure that different activities are carried out to meet established objectives and adhere to WFP policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical support in the implementation of cash transfer activities benefiting beneficiaries in the East Region of Cameroon.
  • Compile data and support analysis and preparation of reports relevant to support decision-making.
  • Perform specialized and/or standardised processes and activities within the specific technical area of work supporting alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines.
  • Provide project management and/or general office support following established targets and WFP’s policies and procedures.
  • Assist in developing project and context specific monitoring plans that are risk-based and focus on measuring results.
  • Within the specific area of responsibility, compile data and support analysis and preparation of reports (e.g. food assistance needs, resource utilization, programme status, performance) in order to support operational decision-making. 12.Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.
  • Can facilitate implementation of food assistance programmes under guidance using basic understanding of principles and good practices of programme design, implementation and monitoring.
  • Review and provide comments to new projects and budget revisions during local project review committee meetings (LPRC) as appropriate to ensure that acceptable indicators are selected for the log-frames, that output and outcome, targets are appropriate, and that quality M&E systems are documented in programme documents;


  • Review partners reports and provide technical feedback to enhance the quality of output and outcome reporting;
  • Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing social protection activities.
  • Act as a point of contact for resolution of general CBT modality queries. 18.Other as required
Qualifications & Experience Required
  • Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 05years experience in a related field.
  • Languages: Fluency (level C) in English and good working knowledge of French
Knowledge & Skills
  • Has contributed to implementation of programmes.
  • Has observed or assisted with policy discussions.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and simultaneously manage multiple tasks in an autonomous manner.
  • Ability to work in a team, and establish effective working relations with persons of different national and cultural backgrounds.
