Job Title: Civil Engineer (Remote - Cameroon Based)

Company Overview
An international company headquartered in the US, specializing in the export of building
materials and equipment, is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is a remote position with a working base in Cameroon.

Position Summary
The successful candidate will work remotely, collaborating closely with the sales team and providing expert consultation to clients. You will assist clients in identifying and selecting the most suitable materials for their construction projects, including but not limited to electrical, fire, plumbing, pool, painting, tiles, etc. You will also contribute to identifying client needs, preparing estimates, and offering technical support throughout the design, identification, and implementation phases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the sales team as a technical consultant, helping clients choose the most suitable building materials and systems for their projects.
  • Assist the sales team in identifying client needs and preparing estimates.
  • Provide expertise in designing, identifying, and implementing building materials and systems for a wide range of building types and large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., seaports, airports, railroads). 
  • Collaborate with clients to ensure the successful integration of building materials and systems according to international standards. 
  • Offer technical guidance to clients, assisting in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to building materials, systems, and equipment.
  • Travel internationally as needed to provide on-site support for building materials identification as well as system design and implementation.
  • Ensure high-quality work is delivered on time with minimal supervision, maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
Qualifications
  • A degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized and reputable institution.
  • At least 8 years of professional experience researching, designing, identifying, and implementing building materials and systems for buildings, residential properties, and largescale infrastructure projects (e.g., seaports, airports, railroads).
  • Deep, practical knowledge of all aspects of building materials and systems used in constructions in American and European standards.
  • Fluency in English (writing, reading, speaking) is required, as English is the company’s primary working language.
  • Fluency in French is a plus.
  • Ability to work within the US EST time zone.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed to support clients in product identification, and system design and implementation.
  • Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Proactive, self-starter with the ability to take initiative and deliver results independently.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated integrity, trustworthiness, and transparency in all aspects of work.
