Mission and objectives

Since 3rd November, 2011, ASCOA has been dedicated to improving the awareness of the local community on HIV/AIDS and its related stigma, promoting peace building in the society, fostering environmental protection and the fight against climate change, supporting children, and empowering women and girls in order to improve their socio-economic participation and boost their wellbeing. We envision a world free of HIV/AIDS, where people are neither stigmatized nor discriminated upon due to their HIV status; a world where women are empowered and children are protected; a world where peace reigns and people live in an environment free of pollution and global warming.

Context

ASCOA is working to raise funds for a five-year strategic plan focused on addressing marine debris and plastic pollution. This plan outlines vital objectives, strategies, and actions to tackle these environmental challenges effectively. The online volunteer will not be asked to contact any donors or submit any fund on behalf of the organization.

Task description

ASCOA is seeking 20 online volunteers who are experts in grant writing and fundraising to help secure funding for its five-year strategic plan on marine debris and plastic pollution. This task will involve conducting thorough research on funding opportunities, drafting proposals, and creating content and ideas for crowdfunding initiatives. The online volunteer will not be asked to contact any donors or submit any fund on behalf of the organization.

Assignment requirements

Required experience
  • Proven experience in drafting, submitting, and securing grants 
  • Strong background in creating and implementing fundraising strategies 
  • Knowledge or experience with projects related to marine debris, plastic pollution, 
  • Proficiency in documenting project progress, outcomes, and impact in a way that appeals to donors 
  • Willingness to work with ASCOA’s team to ensure that fundraising efforts align with ASCOA’s goals, especially within the framework of the five-year strategic plan.
