Call for application : 29 Assistant Lecturers at University of Buea 2026

 Pursuant to Correspondence No. 26-01735/MINESUP/SG/DDES/CEPE of 25 February 2026, from the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, authorising the recruitment of twenty-nine (29) Assistant Lecturers, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Buea announces that the Teaching Positions have been opened within the framework of numerical replacements for the 2025/2026 academic year. The Positions are as follows:

Requirements

The applicant must be a holder of a PhD degree or holder of a Master's degree with proof of registration into a PhD programme in a recognised university. A written test will be organised for candidates with a Master's degree. 

All applications should be addressed to the Vice-Chancellor, The University of Buea, P.O. 63, and delivered at the Mail Service of the University of Buea, Central Administration Building Room 116, on or before Thursday, 02 April 2026. 

The application file shall comprise of following documents: 

1. A stamped application not older than three (03) months, addressed to the Vice-Chancellor of 

The University of Buea with the specific position stated; 

2. A certified photocopy of birth certificate signed within the last three months; 

3. A detailed and signed Curriculum Vitae; 

4. Certified photocopies of all academic certificates from Baccalaureat/GCE A'Level: 

5. A certificate of non-conviction issued within the last three (03) months; 

6. A summary of the candidate's thesis; 

7. A research statement showing the candidate's contribution to the University if recruited;

8. Proof of Registration into a PhD programme for candidates with a Master's degree; 

9. Progress Report of PhD Research Work for candidates with a Master's Degree. 

10. Copies of articles or off-prints of any publications; 

11. A medical certificate issued within the last three (03) months by a medical Doctor in the 

public health sector; 

12. Four (04) passport size photos (colour); 

13. A photocopy of valid National ID card or receipt; 

14. An attestation of effective presence or an authorisation signed by a competent authority (for 

candidates coming from other Ministries); 

15. A copy of National Disability Card (for disabled persons); 

Interviews 

Applicants whose files are complete and in conformity with the advertised profiles shall be called for the interviews at a later date to be determined
