JOB PURPOSE
ECOBANK CAMEROUN SA IS RECRUITING A FIXED ASSETS & DATA ANALYTICS OFFICER
The Fixed Assets & Data Analytics Officer is responsible for ensuring the effective management, control, monitoring, and reporting of the Bank's fixed assets while leveraging data analytics to improve financial reporting, asset management, operational efficiency, and decision-making. The role combines traditional fixed asset accounting and control responsibilities with analytical capabilities to generate actionable insights for management.

- Approximately 60% Fixed Assets responsibilities and 40% Data Analytics responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Fixed Assets Management
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register (FAR) and ensure all asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and retirements are accurately recorded.
- Coordinate periodic physical verification and asset tagging exercises across the Bank.
- Reconcile fixed asset records with the General Ledger and investigate discrepancies.
- Calculate and monitor depreciation/amortization in line with IFRS, Group policies, and local regulatory requirements.
- Review invoices and capitalization requests to ensure proper asset classification.
- Monitor capital expenditure (CAPEX) against approved budgets and provide variance analysis.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual fixed asset reports for management and Group Finance.
- Support internal and external audit reviews by providing documentation and responding to audit queries.
Data Analytics & Reporting
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and performance metrics using available reporting tools.
- Collect, clean, validate, and analyze financial and operational data from multiple sources.
- Perform trend analysis and identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for business improvement.
- Automate recurring reports to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Support Finance, Operations, Procurement, and other business functions with data-driven insights.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis on costs, revenues, asset utilization, and operational performance.
- Develop management information reports (MIS) and executive dashboards for ExCo and senior management.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality across reporting systems.
- Assist with predictive analysis, forecasting, and scenario modelling where required.
- Promote data governance standards and analytics best practices.
Internal Control & Governance
- Ensure adherence to internal control procedures relating to fixed assets and data management.
- Identify control weaknesses and recommend process improvements.
- Maintain updated procedures and desk manuals covering both asset management and reporting processes.
- Support regulatory examinations, verification missions, and compliance reviews.
JOB PROFILE
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in finance, fixed assets accounting, management reporting, or data analytics.
- Experience within the banking or financial services sector is preferred.
- Technical Competencies
- Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting and IFRS requirements.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Power Query, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, VBA desirable).
- Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools.
- Knowledge of data modelling, reporting automation, and database concepts.
- Familiarity with banking systems and ERP applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
