About the Role

We are looking for a young, hard-working professional who is at the start of their career. This role will support our procurement & operations teams by making wise purchases of goods and services for all our operations as well as harvest purchases from our farmers. They are expected to always purchase the right products/services at competitive prices without compromising quality. This is both a field-oriented & administrative position, with a good blend of solid negotiation skills, data management, communication and attention to detail. An ideal candidate is a fast-learner, pays attention to detail with superior negotiation skills. This role requires significant travel in rural Cameroon.

What We Do
We are a food storage, processing, and distribution company that sources products from smallholder farmers, whom we support during the season with input loans and training, so that they can be more productive. We transform our farmers' grain into standardized, consumer products that we sell worldwide, to buyers who can be sure of the quality they receive.

Vendors & Suppliers Management:
  • Identify, validate & manage relationships with potential suppliers/vendors ensuring GLC has access to appropriate supplier documentation at all times
  • Obtain price quotations and negotiate terms and conditions. Maintain a comprehensive supplier database
  • Liaise with suppliers to resolve order discrepancies or issues. Communicate delivery schedules and expectations to suppliers
Corn Purchase:
  • Conduct harvest purchase from farmers
  • Conduct inventory count alongside Finance & Production teams
  • Coordinate harvest collection & delivery at warehouse
  • Logistics, documentation & report management :
  • Organize and file procurement documents for easy retrieval
  • Prepare reports and summaries as needed
  • Ensure all vehicle fleet documents are up to date & maintenance recorded/processed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply chain or related field
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
Skills required:
  • Have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Drive applications
  • Pays attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Efficient in oral and written communication
  • Respectful, humble and ready to learn
  • Fluent in English and French
