The company Europe Afrique Services (EAS), specialized in subcontracting and human resources management, is recruiting for the needs of its client, a large telecom company, a Data Privacy Consultant, for a 1 year assignment.


RESPONSABILITIES

The consultant will undertake activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to the company’s policies and procedures covering the privacy and protection of, and access to, subscriber information in compliance with laws, telecoms regulations and the company’s information privacy practices.

The consultant will work in collaboration with a relevant team to achieve the following deliverables:
  • Provide development guidance and assists in the identification, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s information privacy policies and procedures in coordination with relevant Team to identify areas of non-compliance against the new law.
  • Define a plan to roll out and localise company’s Group’s data privacy policy and Lead its implementation.
  • Localize company’s Data privacy procedures and risk management framework in accordance with company’s Group’s guidance considering the new data protection and privacy law in Cameroon.
  • Provide initial Data Protection Officer (DPO) support for the implementation of the framework. This will include but not limited to creation of a data protection register, incident and breach registers and privacy impact assessment.
  • Ensure delivery of initial and privacy training and orientation to all employees, volunteers, contractors, alliances, business associates, and other appropriate third parties.
  • Initiate, facilitate and promote activities to foster information privacy awareness within the company and related entities.
  • Perform initial and periodic information privacy risk assessments and conducts related ongoing compliance monitoring activities in coordination with operational assessment functions.
  • Work with relevant Teams and committees to ensure the company has and maintains appropriate privacy and confidentiality consent, authorization forms, and information notices and materials reflecting current organization and legal practices and requirements.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and ongoing compliance monitoring of all trading partner and business associate agreements, to ensure all privacy concerns, requirements, and responsibilities are addressed.
  • Establish and administer a process for receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating, and taking action on all complaints concerning the company’s privacy policies and procedures in coordination and collaboration with other similar functions and, when necessary, legal counsel.
  • Work with all personnel (e.g. Marketing, EBU) involved with any aspect of release of protected or subscriber information, to ensure full coordination and cooperation under the company’s policies and procedures and legal requirements
  • Serve as information privacy specialist to the company for all departments and appropriate entities.

BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and design effective.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team 
  • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative methods of data 
  • Excellent report writing and data interpretation skills
EXPERIENCE
  • The Consultant must be certified CIPP and leaving in Cameroon 
  • Relevant experience as Data Policy expert or as a consultant in data protection and privacy in multinationals or significant consulting firm. 
  • A thorough understanding of global data protection issues and legal framework and of the new data protection and privacy law in Cameroon.
  • You have a taste for challenge.
LEVEL OF STUDIES
  • A degree in law, information technology, or a related area
LANGUAGES AND OTHERS
  • English : professional
  • French : fluent
DURATION OF THE MISSION : 1 year.
