About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, hard-working Head of Operations who will manage a diverse team which includes Operations, Production, Procurement & Logistics. The Head of Operations will work closely with the CEO to create strategy and execute their vision. As part of the leadership of the organization, the Head of Operations will support overall strategic and operational decision-making, in addition to fulfilling stewardship responsibilities within their division.

We are a food storage, drying, and distribution company that sources products from smallholder farmers, whom we support during the season with input loans and training so that they can be more productive. We transform the farmers’ produce into standardized, graded products that we sell across the country, to buyers who can be sure of the quality they receive.

We provide agricultural financial solutions and services to smallholder farmers. Our asset-based credit is in the form of fertilizer, seeds and crop protection products, enabling farmers to be more productive. We transform the farmers’ produce into standardized, graded products that we sell across multiple market segments in Cameroon.
Your responsibilities will include:
General:
- Design and lead the operations of the entire organization with the overall aim of delivering a high level of service that meets organizational, farmer and employee needs, while maintaining the balance between risk, cost and service objectives;
- Develop best practice processes to deliver standardized and efficient services across operations;
- Proactively identify and address issues that could impact the successful execution of the company objectives;
- Stay up to date with trends and developments within functional areas of the company by researching and deploying best practices of similar and successful companies as benchmarks;
- Where required, serve as the project lead on cross-institutional project teams and task forces to carry out critical initiatives and projects prioritized by the CEO;
- Develop and maintain metrics as well as analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements across company operations;
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations;
- Create, and implement SOPs within all teams to maintain productivity and continued training & growth within the company
- Execute company’s farmer outgrow growth & crop diversification plans;
- Oversee the delivery of the Training and Development of farmers and field extension agents by designing relevant modules, planning logistics and ensuring best practice methods are taught;
- Design and implement strategy for cost-effective & timely distribution of inputs to farmers;
- Design and implement strategy for input distribution monitoring;
- Supervise the activities of the business development team, ensuring that they are meeting targets and following company SOPs;
- Support the procurement team in designing and implementing cost-effective strategies for grain purchase & collection;
- Inform, review, and monitor the resource needs for operations, production, procurement & logistics;
- At least ten years experience in managing teams, operations, business strategy & finance;
- Master’s degree in agriculture, economics, business, or related disciplines
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) with professional computer proficiency;
- Must be bilingual (English & French);
- Able to lead and manage major change and transition programs.
- Demonstrated management skills & displayed comfort in working with a diverse team;
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both as a team leader and player.
- At least 3 years of experience in a senior leadership role.
- The ability to prioritize work actions and follow up with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
