As part of the expansion of its activities in satisfying all its customers, Africa Eye
Foundation, an international NGO isrecruiting 02 State Registered Nurses for its hospital Magrabi ICO Cameroon Eye Institute (MICEI) located in bak on the Okola road.
Responsibilities:
- Comply with established nursing standards. Implement and maintain
- established department unit, hospital policies, procedure, objectives, quality
- improvement,safety, environmentaland infection control. Interpret these to
- subordinate personnel, patients, medical staff and public as appropriate.
- Follow established routines and utilize supplies and equipment in a cost
- effective manner.
- Maintain a clean, orderly and safe environment for patients and personnel.
- Assist nurse superintendents with orientation, instructing/training and
- supervision of subordinatepersonnel. Supervisenew recruits.
- Cooperating with other personnel to achieve department objectives and
- maintain good employee, interdepartmental and public relations.
- Maintain patient's right and confidentiality of patient information, and abide
- by established communications code.
- Attend required meetings,in-services and educational programs.
- Maintain professional growth and development through seminars,workshops
- and professional affiliations.
- Provide assistance during patient's examinations, treatment and carry out
- proceduresefficiently.
- Ensure that quality nursing care is given to patients.
- Treat all patients in a polite manner and with a smiling face.
- Provide good working relationships with other staff in the hospital.
- Check working environment for cleanliness.
- Ensure that all instruments are available in the room and all equipment is in good working order.
- Ensure that enough supplies are available in clinic for each day.
- Check incoming files for correct names, dates and file numbers and check if
- any investigations need to be done prior to examination.
- Should accompany the patient to the examination chair or bed and make
- him/hercomfortable.
- Accompany the patient to any department as necessary or arrange for a
- nursing assistant to take the patient there.
- Observe aseptictechniques at all times.
- Understandsthe conceptof prevention of cross infection and provides tOrrect
- information to the patient regarding treatmentor follow-up apt
- Ensuresthat all files are returned to the Medical Records at he erd of
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing school.
- At least 2years previous clinical experience medical/surgical, emergency and outpatient.
- Ability to independently work, plan, organize and carry out work assignments
- High level of integrity, interpersonal and management skills with the ability to work with teams at all levels
- Good time management skills and the ability to communicate effectively
- Readily adjusts schedule, tasks, and priorities when necessary to meet needs.
- Copy of relevant certificates
- Cover letter with salary expectations
- Updated Curriculum vitae with 3references
- Photocopy of National Identity card
