Role Description

Striving For All is seeking a Part-Time Environment Instructor to teach high school students about environmental science, sustainability, and conservation. The instructor will be responsible for developing and delivering lessons that help students understand the importance of environmental issues and encourage sustainable practices. This is a contractor position, and the instructor will work on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the environment, teaching, and inspiring the next generation to take an active role in environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach high school students the fundamentals of environmental science, sustainability, and conservation.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons that introduce students to environmental issues and solutions.
  • Guide students in understanding the impact of human activity on the environment and ways to promote sustainability.
  • Organize field trips, activities, and projects that provide students with practical, real-world experiences.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback on their understanding and involvement in environmental projects.
  • Collaborate with SFA’s education team to ensure lesson plans align with overall curriculum goals.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends in environmental science and sustainability to incorporate into lessons.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment for all students.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge and experience in environmental science or related fields.
  • Teaching or mentoring experience, especially with high school students, is preferred.
  • Ability to translate complex environmental concepts into engaging and accessible lessons.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Education, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in environmental education or sustainability programs is a plus.
  • English language proficiency at a professional level.
