Eligibility Requirements for the Colombia Foreign Scholarship 2026

• Must be a foreign citizen.
• Must not hold Colombian nationality.
• Must not be residing — nor have resided — in Colombian territory in the 6 months prior to applying, and must not have started studies in Colombia at the time of application.
• If selected, scholars may be required by ICETEX to provide a Certificate of Migratory Movements, dated no more than 30 days from entry into Colombian territory.
• Must not have any marital or de facto relationship in Colombia.
• Must not have previously benefited from ICETEX through the Beca Colombia program.
• Must not be older than 50 years.
• Must have a cumulative undergraduate average of at least 4.0/5.0 on the Colombian scale (or equivalent).
• Must hold a professional, undergraduate, or graduate degree in any area of knowledge.
• Must have admission to one to three postgraduate programs listed in the Academic Offer Catalog 2026-2.
• Must be in good physical and mental health, certified by a doctor.
